Greengage is honored to have executed the complete landscape renovation at St. Paul’s Chapel, a New York City institution with a rich history. Our work at this cultural site included everything from replacing the walkways with three-inch-thick imported brownstone pavers, installing world’s fair benches, irrigation and checking the dams for erosion. We added rumble strip blue-stone meandering pathways throughout the grounds, amended the soil; planted trees, shrubs and perennials; as well as the seed for the lawn space. We planted the larger trees during overnight shifts, seeing through the completion of this project through our industry-leading means and methods. 

This renovation project was an emotionally charged one, the church serving as a place of refuge and recovery for first responders and workers at the World Trade Center site. We had goosebumps seeing scratches on the pews from workers’ equipment. Working at such a sensitive cultural site required not only the dedication and diligence that we are known for, but also respect and for the space and the weight of its historical significance.
