Juan Pablo Duarte Square Park, often referred to as Duarte Square, is a wonderful triangular park in Lower Manhattan that Greengage is honored to have worked on. The scope of our work includes everything from the demolition of the site, removal of existing planting to the installation of NYC curb trees, planters and NYC Department of Transportation-approved asphalt with thermo-plastic paint. We painted hopscotch, checkers, and a various children’s street games, encouraging sports and recreational activities in the community. Our crew planted shrubs and perennials throughout, as well as raised planting beds. Today, Duarte Square is a place of respite within the hustle and bustle of city life and we are proud to have contributed to its beauty and the sense of community it inspires.
